The first conversation we have is one of the most important steps in our entire process. But it isn't a sales pitch or a high-pressure interrogation. Think of it as a relaxed, two-way conversation to see if we're a good fit for each other. Our goal is to understand your vision, get to the root of your challenges, and determine the best way we can help you succeed. It's the foundation of a great partnership, built on clarity from day one.
A No-Pressure Conversation
Calls usually last for 1 hour and we'll lead the way, but we want to hear from you. The call is our chance to learn about your business, your ambitions, and your past experiences with creative projects. We'll typically cover:
😊 Your Business & Your Goals
We want to understand what you do, who you serve, and what success looks like for you.
😓 Your Current Challenges
We’ll dig into your primary pain points. What’s not working? What’s frustrating you? What roadblocks are holding you back?
🌟 Your Vision for the Future
If this project is a massive success a year from now, what has changed for your business?
🛠️ Our Process in a Nutshell
We’ll also give you a brief, no-fluff summary of how we work, our typical timelines, and general budget ranges so you have a clear picture.
How to Prepare (But Don't Stress About It)
You don’t need to show up with a perfectly polished presentation—in fact, it's better if you don't! The most productive calls happen when you’ve had a moment to reflect. If you can, we recommend jotting down a few notes on:
Your Top 3 Pain Points
What are the biggest frustrations you have with your current website, brand, or content?
Your Ideal Outcome
What is the #1 thing you want visitors to do? What feeling do you want your brand to evoke?
Your Target Audience
Who is your ideal customer? Be as specific as you can.
And if you draw a blank on some of these? That’s completely fine. Helping you find clarity is a core part of what we do.
The Three Paths Forward
At the end of our call, we’ll recommend a clear path forward. We believe in being radically transparent, so we’ll always suggest the route that makes the most sense for you, even if that means we don't work together right away.
Path 1: Proceed to a Proposal
If you have a solid grasp of your marketing strategy and a clear vision for the project, we'll move directly into a discovery session to map out the finer details for a formal proposal.
Path 2: An Advanced Discovery Session
If your website's purpose, performance, or alignment with your business goals is unclear, we may suggest a paid, in-depth discovery session. This is a mini-project in itself, where we run a proper audit and work together to build a robust strategy before committing to a full build.
Path 3: A Strategic Pause
If you don't yet have a marketing strategy to drive traffic and connect with your audience, we’ll honestly recommend getting that sorted first. A brilliant website deserves a brilliant plan to support it, and we can even refer you to trusted marketing partners who can help.
