Capturing the South Coast Derby from the fan's perspective

Southampton Football Club wanted to show the south coast derby from the fans’ point of view, so we got in amongst it and captured the full matchday experience.
The problem
Southampton Football Club are serious about their connection with fans and wanted to show it properly during one of the biggest fixtures of the season. The south coast derby brings noise, loyalty and a level of support that doesn’t always come through in standard matchday content. They wanted to capture what it actually feels like to be there, from the pre-match build-up to the final whistle. The challenge was creating content that felt real, not staged, and still worked across their marketing channels.
The solution
We got in with the fans before kick-off and stayed there through the match, capturing the day as it happened. No staging, no overthinking, just real moments from the stands and the streets around it. By living the matchday experience alongside them, we were able to document the energy, reactions and support in a way that feels honest. We delivered a solid image bank the club can use across email, social and web, giving them content that actually reflects their loyal fanbase.
